Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them

I just came back from the cinemas where I watched Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them.

It was amazing. Beautiful. Exhilarating.

Eddie Redmayne is awesome. His acting. OMG. And dude. His eyes. I couldn’t stop staring at them. (♥ω♥*)

I really admire J.K Rowling’s imagination. I don’t know how she comes up with these things.

I laughed. I smiled.

The ending was somewhat bitter-sweet.

Highly recommend it.

As you can probably tell I am having trouble forming sentences to describe my experiences.

It was worth the $30. Yes $30. I wanted a good experience so I bought a VMAX 3D ticket. My bank is crying.

I feel like my response to this movie is heavily influenced by my positive experiences with Harry Potter. I don’t know how the people who were never “big” on Harry Potter will respond to this. So this is purely based on my biased fan-girl(ey) experience.

I also thought that this movie is somewhat reflective of us as people. These days people are so ignorant, greedy and impulsive. This has an impact on the people caught in between. However there are also people who are passionate and give hope to those around them. Even though they may seem dodgy at first. But that’s probably me overthinking.

Has anyone seen it?

What’s your opinion on it? (*´ ˘ `*).。oO ( ♡ )

Did I say it was beautiful? It was beautiful.

I went and bought $39 sunscreen…-_-||

I have really sensitive skin. Not all sunscreens work for me and I usually end up breaking out a few hours later.

I found this sunscreen the last time I was in Japan and so far it was the only one that didn’t make my skin go crazy. So naturally, I would continue using it.

I was running out of my supply, so wandered around the city trying to find a store that sold the same brand of sunscreen.

I found one.

And got a bigger sized bottle because why not.

Guess how much it was?

$39AUD

For a 155ml bottle of sunscreen.

I’m that kid who can’t find a job (McDonalds rejected my application more than 3 times) and only has $98 in the bank. I live off Youth Allowance and my parents.

And I BOUGHT A 155ML BOTTLE OF SUNSCREEN FOR $39AUD

I am so done with my expensive needs. -_-

Does anyone have a cheaper alternative? I can’t shop online because restrictions.

yes it’s on the floor. ignore that strand of hair. it looked bigger in the packet tbh.

Cat Cafe in Myeongdong

Cats are so floofy. As some of you may know, I was in South Korea a while ago. We found a cat cafe in Myeongdong and here’s a stream of photos of the floofy felines. If you want to know any more information, ask in the comment section and I will get back to you when I can. Exams and assessments are killing me right now.

Cat Cafe-Attic Cat
I think it’s a list of the cats…not sure

The face I make nearly everyday. The resemblance is uncanny
The blue scarf shows that we should be careful with this guy. He can scratch. I call him Boss Cat

Is it me or does this guy look like a panther?

hehe it’s licking it’s butt :3

Boss Cat domination
The owner put a glob of food on our hands so we can feed the cats. Boss Cat is the one that licks you clean

Is it me or does Boos Cat look like Hoichi from the anime Gintama???

Don’t they look alike????

July: One Step Closer ヾ(。・ω・)シ

Hi guys!

So I finished the exam as mentioned in my previous update post. It went better than last year (I didn’t guess more than 50% of the exam this time). (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و One step closer to med school. Can’t say for certain that I did well enough though.

But because I was paying more attention to the questions I was a bit rushed for time and ended up doing the last 20 questions in 15 minutes.

I’m also back at uni for the new semester. I’m dreading this semester. They combined 2 of my worst subjects into 1 subject:

Biology + Chemistry= Biological Chemistry. (ー△ー;)

3 lectures in and I’m already so confused.

Someone save me.

Lights Out: a disappointment? ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌

Hi Guys!

I watched Lights Out yesterday with a group of friends. It started out as a outing for 4 people but eventually people started inviting their friends and it turned into something like a family meeting.

The movie was somewhat disappointing. The jump scares were, as usual, jump scary but the characters weren’t as stupid (which is a plus). The movie was shorter than I expected, only 1hr 20mins, and I felt like the storyline was too resolved. After revealing the identity of the “monster” the resolution seemed pretty obvious.

Throughout the movie I expected Bret, Rebecca’s boyfriend, to die. Unfortunately he didn’t. I don’t know why but I always expect more characters to die in horror films. Mainly because it’s horror and something always out there trying to kill people. Is it only me?

Monthly Update ヾ(。・ω・)シ

Hey guys!

School will be starting in a few weeks. I have a test coming up. I see no improvement in my marks. I feel so drained. I shouldn’t be binge watching tv shows.

My plans to go to Korea with my mates are set. It will be an 8 days 7 nights trip and everything is planned. Food. Lots of food. Will also get dragged around the shopping malls. Look forward to that. 😛

Between now and the trip I will most likely try to find employment. That is if any employer will be willing to accomodate to my 23 contact hour course.

Frustration 。゜(`Д´)゜。

Recently I have been feeling really frustrated and stressed. I shouldn’t be stressed. I am on my break after finishing my first university semester. But I am still studying.

There is a test I have to do on the 27th of July in order for me to be eligible to transfer to most health courses like Optometry and Medicine, known as the undergraduate medicine and health sciences admission test (UMAT). Right now the thought and possibility of me doing medicine is very unlikely so I felt it would be better for me to try to transfer into Optometry and see where my future possibilities can lead to after that. A transfer from a science degree into Medicine is a huge leap.

I sat the UMAT last year and did horribly. This year I felt like I should be more prepared so purchased packages online where I can do practice exams. In the package I bought, they gave 10 practice exams. So far, I’ve barely gotten over 50% in 4 exams.

I have a friend who is doing Optometry and planning to transfer into Medicine. So she is also sitting the UMAT this year. Even though she didn’t buy the same package, she has access to other papers from tutors. Nearly everyday she complains about how she isn’t doing much and how low the marks she is getting. As far as I know, she has done more papers than I have and she has been getting around 60% for each paper she has done.

I know none of this is her fault, but I am starting to get really frustrated. Frustrated that my marks aren’t picking up. Frustrated that someone who is getting better marks than me is complaining about how low her marks are. Also frustrated about how slow I read. 3hours for a 134 question exam and I sometimes find myself spending 10 minutes on one question.

(╯°Д°)╯︵/(.□ . )

On a lighter note, I will be going to camp! YAY! So by the time you guys see this I might still be in bed or would have left already. Look forward to my camp related posts!

≧ω≦

And the South Korea trip is coming up. My mates and I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions?

Limited Horror Movie Experience: The Conjuring                ( ⚆ _ ⚆ )

Hi guys! How are you? My limbs and my nose has been frozen solid for the last few weeks. Hope you guys are in a better state.

I went to watch the Conjuring 2 on Thursday. I have absolutely no experience in horror movies. The last time I attempted to watch a “horror” movie was when I was when I was 9. I was dragged to watch Scary Movie 4 by my brother who was 6 at that time. And it doesn’t even count as a scary movie.

I made plans with a few friends to watch the new James Wan movie, the Conjuring 2, on Thursday. It was a very rushed get together and I haven’t seen the first movie. So I decided to watch the first movie the night before to get used to the director’s style and to have a taste of what I will be up against.

An hour into the movie:

Jump scares. Phone dropped three times. No cracks.

After revealing the cause of the haunting and the identity of the evil spirit etc etc it was alright for me. Probably because I’m used to watching exorcisms and stuff like that. I guess I have to thank my endless binge watching of TV shows like Supernatural (can we talk about the last episode of the last season? Is it just me or was it anticlimatic?) and random mangas and anime.

Thursday:

Despite my 3 week crave for Pringles I didn’t buy any because I am trying to save up for my South Korea trip in September. I don’t even have $1000 AUD yet.

We ended up in a small cinema theatre with seats near the back and the guys sitting behind us were really rude. They were constantly talking throughout the movie and doing something else on their phone.

There were jump scares, which I hate, as usual. Especially the last one! This time I didn’t drop my phone or anything. Proud of me? (*´∀`*)

What I realised with my limited horror movie experience is that the characters are so stupid. I understand the reason why the main characters would go to the cellar or into some basement filled with water since it’s their job. But why in the world would you go into a room where there’s apparently someone holding knives or figure out why your stupid toy truck is coming to life in the middle of the night.

Ok rant over.

Hopefully in the future there will be characters who aren’t like that. Though I know it’s unavoidable and required to get the story moving.

My exams are over… (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

My exams are over and my one month (and a bit) break starts!!!!!

For the past few months I have been fiddling with my blog to try to find out what works for me and what doesn’t. Here’s what I have learnt so far:

1. I have absolutely no self control and will spend the whole day on social media or on the blog when I have exams the next day.

2. Posting whenever I feel like would mean that the blog will be very active for a few days or weeks and then dead for the next few months.

3. There is seriously nothing interesting going on during the semester. I do nothing except tire myself out over my grades.

4. No one is interested in me grumbling over school.

5. I should seriously start to take my studies seriously. I really need to transfer out of Advanced Science.

So to patch things ups, I have decided to:

1. Post during my breaks only. Or write blog posts during the semester breaks.

2. Publish my posts on a set day each week only. (I’m thinking Sunday might work best for me)

3. This blog might as well be about whatever I get up to in the holidays. So any events, travel or just random stuff I do will be posted.

So that’s it. I will be going out and doing stuff like camp during this break and for my next break which is a 1 week mid semester I will be going to South Korea (guys I don’t really know what to do in Korea and all my friend wants to do is shop. Help).

I promise I will change the horrible profile pictures I have now. As soon I get something decent. I have nothing on me and want something which I can somehow censor my face out. Sorry.

See you in my next post!
